How To See Other People's Subscribers On YouTube

If you’ve had a YouTube channel for any length of time, getting subscribers is important to the growth of your channel.

Getting them organically is the safest long-term way is best. It just takes a bit longer. Others buy YouTube subscribers from Social Media Daily. The more people you have subscribed, the more views you will get. Those views will lead to genuine popularity, especially in the eyes of YouTube. But getting subscribers can be a full-time job all by itself.

But what if there was a way to see a list of someone else’s subscribers to try and draw them to your channel? Let’s first examine why you might want to do this.

Why Would You Want To See Someone Else’s Channel?

So the question is why would you want to see someone else’s channel? It basically has to do with trying to get an edge over your competition. Let’s say that you have an internet marketing channel. There are a lot of internet marketing channels out there, and you feel that your content would serve people better.

Of course, if your content is good enough, you shouldn’t have to worry about this. But maybe your channel is new and you would like to give it a jump start. There is nothing wrong with that.

Let’s also say that your budget this month is so tight that you cannot buy YouTube subscribers this time around. So you want to try and get them at low-or-no-cost.

Is there a way you can see other people’s subscribers?

Well, there was a way to do this right inside of YouTube. We will talk about that old method, its upsides and downsides. Then we will talk about an alternative that will allow you to explore new subscriber possibilities ethically, and without any backlash from YouTube.

The Old Way To View Another Subscriber’s Channel

Here is how you used to be able to see other people’s subscribers on YouTube. It had to do with manipulating a specific link that would take you to another user’s list of subscribers. The link was set up as follows:

https://gdata.youtube.com/feeds/base/users/USERNAME/newsubscriptionvideos?client=ytapi-youtube-user&v=2

All you had to do was replace ‘USERNAME” with the user’s name you wanted to see. You would then copy and paste the link into the browser.

If you were to try this now, however, it will not work. You will likely get a message on an otherwise blank page that says “no longer available.”

That’s right. The above link no longer works. For security and privacy reasons, YouTube changed everything so that no user can view another user’s subscribers.

Still, there is something you can do that could prove as valuable to your channel and your business, about as valuable as seeing someone else’s subscriber list, but safer for everyone.

An Alternative to Finding Subscribers

Before we get to this, however, we are assuming the following:

  • You have chosen the right niche. In other words, you know your stuff on this subject.
  • Your content is good. You carefully prepared it to grab a viewer’s attention.
  • You have no intention of spamming anyone. As we get into the method, you may see why the potential for spam still exists here.

So here is how you get the attention of a subscriber who commented on yours or someone else’s video:

  • Go to one of your videos, or a video of one of the channels where you frequently view videos, whether you subscribe to them or not.
  • Check out the comments on those videos.
  • Click on the icon of the user of your choice. You will then be directed to their channel.
  • Go to the “About” tab. Look for the “Google +” link, and click on it. This leads you to their Google+ page.
  • Click on the “Follow” button. Click on it again to show which of the groups you want to add them to.
  • Add them to your Google+ circle. They get a notification that you added them.

This will safely prompt them to visit your channel to see why you added them. If your videos are good and your channel is set up nice you should be able to grab their attention. You may retain some of them and they'll, in turn, subscribe to your channel.

Of course, there is a small chance that this method may not settle well with you. Maybe it’s too much work for your taste. That’s understandable. Maybe you would rather wait until you can buy YouTube subscribers.

The quest for more subscribers is an ever-interesting one. It all used to be so easy, but as the industry changes, especially in the constant fight against YouTubers who want to cheat and game the system, marketing methods continue to change as well. There is always the possibility that even the method outlined here could be met with glitches.

However, that is no reason to throw in the towel. Even when there are changes that seem to be adverse, eventually some positive advances often surface. If it seems like you continue to confront obstacles in your YouTube marketing, just hang in there.

Remember that building a YouTube channel, like marketing in general – and life – is work. Things are changing faster these days than any other time period in history. Keeping your channel afloat and flourishing is not going to get any easier.

Sure, there will be advances that will help YouTubers do things better. Sometimes those advances stick around for a good while. Other times, they fall into the darkness. Never be afraid of change.

Successful business owners both online and offline are always prepared to make adjustments along the way. Even the best-laid plans meet with obstacles. Nothing goes perfectly as planned.

So seeing the channels of other subscribers could work for you, so if you’re willing to give it a try, maybe it will. Otherwise, be prepared to be flexible.
